You are planning to study abroad .What do you think you will like and dislike about this experience? Why?

When I am preparing to study abroad without doubt I will think about the thing that I am excited for and the ones I worry about. I think that there are many advantages to studying abroad but also there are some disadvantages.

 

To begin with, the foremost disadvantage of studying abroad is you being alone in a place you know nothing about. Even though you become independent you are on your own which can be frightening. In many cases, when you first move to another country you have no friends and do not even know anyone there. 

Moreover, you have to learn to take care of yourself and to be more responsible. Not to mention if you go to study far away from your home country you will get homesick more easily because of the knowledge that it is hard for you to go back. However, this could be perceived as an advantage, as well. By being independent and learning to be independent this disadvantage plays a key role in going into adulthood.

On the other hand, a great advantage of studying abroad is the thing you learn about that county’s traditions and culture. Getting to experience a whole new culture and learning about the people’s way of thinking by first hand is extraterrestrial. Since I adore broadening my knowledge, I believe that this will be the part I will like the most.

And last but not least, a prominent advantage of studying abroad is all the new people you will get to meet and make friends with. Furthermore, there will be people from other parts of the world, too. Thus, you will be able to experience more than one culture through these people.

In conclusion, in my opinion, there are more pros than cons to studying abroad. Nonetheless, many of the disadvantages teach us lessons we need to learn to become adults. I believe that the thing I will like the most is  experience  a new culture and the least will have to get by on my own.
