Every person's life experience begins with a form of communication. The first individuals, apart from our parents and other family members, we meet are the ones at kindergarten and school. This makes school one of the most important places for youngsters.
To begin with, too many modern parents believe this institution is supposed to teach their children manners and basic rules. However, the truth is far from this common misconception. To my mind, the actual purpose of schools is to prepare children for life's intellectual challenges, and, of course, to give them basic knowledge. In school you can also discover your true vocation or passion.
What is more, we humans are social beings and schools often present us with the perfect situations to make and develop new friendships and adopt proper behavioral patterns. In fact, going to school and mingling with peers allows a better connection within a group of like-minded people of the same generation.
Last but not least, school is an excellent playground for our brains. The mind needs constant training and intense thinking in order to develop. Brainstorming is the key. Hence, all the basic activities students might find boring in class are actually great brain stimulation.
Moreover, children are highly susceptible to other people's influences in their formative years and schools as a whole, but teachers and classmates in particular, have a great role in the moulding of their characters and personalities and helping them finding themselves while going through an identity crisis, for instance; or understanding their true selves.
To conclude, when school, as an educational institution, fulfills its purpose it opens numerous doors to a better future in front of you. Furthermore, socializing with so many different people can teach you patience and acceptance.
